Corrected Notice of Sale - WHS Building Trades

Notice is hereby given that on the 18th day of December 2019, the Board of Education of Wilmington Community Unit School District 209-U (the school district), Will County, Illinois, will sell at public sale by sealed bids the real property commonly known as 950 Wildcat Court, Wilmington, IL 60481.

  1. Said property is to be sold pursuant to sealed bids to be submitted to the school district,
    Attention: Dr. Matt Swick, 209U Wildcat Ct., Wilmington, IL 60481, on or before 2:00 p.m., Central Standard Time, December 18, 2019. The minimum bid price for said property is $259,000.
  2. In case of any ties as to bids, there will be a lottery immediately after the bid opening to determine the ultimate winning bid as to the property.
  3. The board of education hereby reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
  4. Said lots shall be conveyed by Quit Claim Deed.
  5. The board of education of the school district makes no representation as to the property, including and not limited to habitability, or whether it is suitable for a specific use. The property is sold as is and where is without any warranties whatsoever.
  6. All bidders must submit a certified, cashiers or bank check with their bid in an amount of $2500 or more (“Earnest Money”) payable to Wilmington Community Unit School District 209-U. All unsuccessful bidders shall have their checks returned to them. The successful bidder shall have his/her check applied toward the purchase price of the property.
  7. The school district shall provide a survey at the time of closing to the successful bidder. The school district shall pay $3,000 toward the closing costs. In addition, the school district will provide a $3000 carpet allowance.
  8. Anyone failing to submit the Earnest Money in the form set forth under these terms of sale at the time that the bid is submitted shall have their bid rejected as unresponsive.
  9. All purchases by the successful bidder shall be consummated by cash at closing.
  10. At the time of closing, the title report for the property shall reflect title insurance in the amount of the sale price.
  11. Closing will occur at an office of a title company designated by the school district at a time and date that is acceptable to the school district.

All sealed bids must be received by the district office, Wilmington Community Unit School District 209-U, 209U Wildcat Ct., Wilmington, Illinois 60481, on or before 2:00 p.m., Central Standard Time, December 18, 2019. No bids submitted thereafter shall be accepted. Said bid opening shall occur at the district administrative office of the school district, 209U Wildcat Ct., Wilmington, Illinois 60481, at 2:00 p.m. on December 18, 2019.

The board of education will make its decision on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, and reserves the right to waive any technicalities or irregularities and to reject any or all bids or any part or parts thereof. Attendance at the bid opening is not mandatory. Successful bidders shall be notified by telephone, followed by written confirmation.
